Andy Hillstrand Bio: Andy Hillstrand (age 44) trades command duties with John between seasons; he is the captain of the Time Bandit during opilio crab season.

He is talkative and considers himself the most levelheaded of the family. He runs the business side but always includes his brothers on the final decisions. Andy is also married (25 years), with two grown daughters, and one grandson. At his ranch in Indiana, Andy engages in his other passion: horse training. He trains Quarter horses through the natural horsemanship or “horse whisperer” technique. He is also 3x Barrel Racing Champion in Alaska.

    These guys are really fun to watch. Andy is such a class act, staying married all those years really shows character,especially for such a nice person, with good looks & talent, on the boat and off. And as for "old hearthrob" John. he's just a hoot and a kick in the pants. Great family. sajsam

    Captain Andys life is amazing to me. I think it would be awesome to have a on the edge job that you ROCK at and then a ranch life of such a country setting total opposite worlds and that is just amazing and truely the best of both worlds!

    Never have seen a guy race barrels and poles. Would like to see you do that.

    Hey Andy, I thought u were awsome in the opie seasons when u went to visit ur dads grave was very touching (i almost thought cried) u r so cool i love horses i am in the 4-H horse camp in NC i have a broken leg but am eager to get back on. I think u are dedicated to both ur jobs keep rockin.
