Jake will be celebrating his 21st birthday while the Cornelia Marie is out at sea, although it will be an alcohol-free celebration. When Jake is not on a boat, he enjoys skateboarding, snowboarding and biking. He hopes to put money away from this crab season in order to buy a home in Washington.

Although he works non-stop now, he is bitter about rationalization, stating that it took him 7 weeks of king crab fishing to earn what he made in 2.5 days before rationalization laws took effect. These wonderful men were kind enough to take time out of their busy lives to visit our Deadliest Catch Classroom. Gentlemen, you have inspired my students for a lifetime and all of them left school saying, "This is the best day of my life." I wish you many years of health and happiness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
