SYNOPSIS: After a deadly start to the season, the Bering Sea is still claiming victims. Working in high seas, deckhand Lenny Lakanoff of the Wizard suffers a crippling injury, sending Captain Keith scrambling to shore. Meanwhile, Captain Blake of the Maverick continues to radio crab, even at the risk of ruining a relationship with Captain Phil of the Cornelia Marie. On the Northwestern, deckhand Matt fears possible jail time as fishing has unexpectedly hit rock bottom. However, the Far WestFarwest Leader finds pots of gold at the hands of the captain's wife.

  • Deckhand Matt Bradley of the Northwestern needs to get back to Seattle in two weeks to make a court date. If he misses the court date he'll spend 8 months in jail. Matt reveals this to Captain Sig as he didn't mention it before they left town.

  • On the Farwest Leader Ragnhild Moncrief, Cook/ Boat Mom, tells her husband, Captain Greg Moncrief to go north to find the crab as they are currently pulling bad pots with few keepers. Greg decides to go north and lets Ragnhild set the string and she finds the crab making the boat $26,000 in a 26 pot string. The crew dubs the string the Raggie String.

MAJOR SETBACKS
VICTORIES
  • On the Wizard Deckhand Lenny Lekanoff crushes one of his fingers on the rail when a pot hit it. They have to take him to the medical clinic in Dutch or he'll lose his finger.
  • Other boats set their gear on top of the Northwestern's gear so their pots are coming up nearly empty and they must move their pots to new grounds.
  • The Cornelia Marie is heading to King Cove with a busted propeller that may take several days to repair if it's a serious issue.

  • Deckhand Lenny Lekanoff of the Wizard has his finger stitched up in Dutch. He has to stay inside for a few days and then he'll be able to fish so he will not have to miss the rest of the season.
