Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand...Appearing in Vancouver, WA
May 14 2008, 9:22 AM EDT Doesn't look like anyone posted this but they are coming to my home town, This Saturday, 17th. Since I wasn't selected to go to Seattle, here's my chance :) Hip Hip HORRAY!!! Here is the article that was posted in the Columbian.com Monday, May 12, 2008 VANCOUVER County skills center marks 25 years The Clark County Skills Center has cast a wide net to bring alums and other special guests to celebrate its 25th anniversary Saturday. Two visitors should add pizazz: Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand, sea captains of the “Time Bandit” and stars of the Discovery Channel’s top-rated “Deadliest Catch” show, will make an appearance. The Hillstrands will be signing copies of their new book, “Time Bandit: Two Brothers, the Bering Sea and One of the World’s Deadliest Jobs.” Their appearance will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the skills center, 12200 N.E. 28th St. in Vancouver. Since it opened in 1983, the skills center has sent 18,000 graduates on to technical careers — to be sure, few as risky as crab fishing in the Bering Sea. Owned by 10 Southwest Washington school districts, the center continues to provide career and technical programs, from medical fields and banking, to culinary arts and diesel technology. The skills center welcomes all alums and the public to join Saturday’s celebration, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be tours and displays, live music from three local bands, a car show, food booths, a silent auction, and a special reunion for graduates. For more information, call Dennis Kampe, skills center director, at 360-604-1050. Do you find this valuable? |
